December 2023 Timetable Changes
A number of changes will be made to West Midlands Trains services from 10 December 2023.
Birmingham New Street to Liverpool Lime Street
- Monday to Friday. Two trains per hour will operate during peak hours, with 1 train per hour off-peak. All trains will be operated using 4-car units.
- Saturday. Two trains per hour will operate all day using a mix of 4-car and 8-car units.
- Sunday. Services are unchanged.
Birmingham New Street to Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent
- Services will be curtailed to operate Stafford – Stoke-on-Trent – Crewe only.
- Times will be changed to improve connection times from southbound trains onto Trent Valley services.
- There will be reduced journey times between Stoke, Stone & Birmingham New Street compared to the current timetable
Chase Line
- The last departure from Birmingham New Street to Hednesford (23.22) will run through to Rugeley Trent Valley
Snow Hill Lines
- Two additional morning peak services will operate on weekdays - 06.25 Stourbridge Junction to Leamington Spa and 07.53 Leamington Spa –Birmingham Snow Hill
- There will be later calls at Earlswood on Sundays
- Two diagrams will be strengthened from 3-car to 5-car, and two from 4-car to 5-car on Monday to Saturday
Chiltern Railways
- The 0644 Stourbridge Junction to London Marylebone service will be truncated to start from Birmingham Moor Street at 0714.
LNWR Targeted Strengthening (Sundays)
- 15 of the 20 busiest services in and out of Euston will be strengthened by 4 cars (most from 8-car to 12-car)
